Alternative Education  

The Alternative Education (AE) Project was set up at the beginning of 2003 after meetings with the Ministry of Education and various AE providers in Canterbury showed that there was a gap in career and after-AE follow up support given to students.  

The AE Project is designed to provide students attending Alternative Education Programmes in the Canterbury area with intensive labour market information, career advice, and one to one support. 

The aim is to assist students to develop a plan before they leave AE and support them to obtain and stay in some type of training or work.   The project is flexible and adapts to the needs of the various AE’s.
