Congratulations to Christchurch website company Hairy Lemon who won the American Chamber of Commerce’s exporter of the year award for companies doing up to $US500,000 in US business annually!
Communications and Information Technology Minister Steven Joyce’s media release on Broadband: http://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/ultra-fast+broadband+investment+proposal+finalised.
A recent MYOB survey showed only 35% of businesses want to grow their businesses and half are in it for lifestyle reasons – something to ponder, huh!
And showing how we’re up with the play in Christchurch, check out the Christchurch City Library’s new Overdrive service – as of October 5 you’ll be able to check out audiobooks on your library account to play on your own audio players (MP3 players or IPods etc). Built-in software means customers don’t have to worry about returning items or incurring fines. The software to download the items to personal audio players is free, and has Mac and PC versions. And titles can be copied to disc for personal use.
The BNZ is “Closed for good” on 4 November – i.e. they’re shutting up shop for the day so their 5000-odd staff can work on community projects. They’re keen to hear from communities with project ideas – contact them at closedforgood.org.
Graeme Russell wants to hear from any businesses interested in advertising in a feature in the Economic Times in India… here’s his blurb:
“I'm looking for NZ businesses that have an interest being part of a feature "KiwiLand" being prepared for The Economic Times (India). www.adagebusiness.co.nz”
And on Thursday, September 24 the Champion Canterbury Awards celebrates our best and brightest… best of luck to all those businesses nominated for awards!
