What makes Christchurch great?
Lifestyle
Diverse, accessible, fun!

Christchurch offers a great quality of life with ready access to the outdoors, cultural activities and a temperate climate.

In the 2009 OECD Social Indicators, New Zealanders ranked 6th out of 30 OECD countries in terms of overall satisfaction with life.1 In the 2008 National Quality of Life Survey, 93.1 percent of Christchurch residents rate their quality of life as good or extremely good, higher than the national average (92.1 percent).

We’re known as the Garden City and the more than 740 local parks are testament to that. Two harbours, Lyttelton and Akaroa, surf beaches and ski fields are easily accessible from the city.
Christchurch suburbs are situated around a central business district with most commutes into the central city taking less than 20 minutes. Strategically-placed cycle routes into the city afford easy access for our high proportion of cycle commuters.
