Settlement Support NZ - Christchurch
Starting a New Life in Christchurch?
It's not always easy to find the information you need about employment, education, health services and many other aspects of living in Christchurch, New Zealand. The biggest challenge is knowing where to find this information.
SSNZ provides easy access to information you will need to know about when settling in your new community.
What is it?
The Settlement Support NZ is a government initiative to help newcomers to settle in New Zealand.
Settlement Support NZ consists of 19 local initiatives around New Zealand. Each local initiative is set up with a Settlement Support Coordinator to help newcomers get in touch with the local information and services that they need to support their settlement.
Settlement Support NZ connects newcomers with existing services in the local communities. The local Settlement Support Coordinator will:
- Identify local settlement support needs and the services that can meet them
- Connect individuals with information and services that support their settlement
- Support mainstream services in meeting the needs of newcomers
- Ensure there is a clear point of contact for migrants and refugees to access the information that they need to settle
