What makes Christchurch great?
Transport
Access for people and goods in and out x 24/7
Christchurch has a comprehensive transport network enabling you to easily access international markets.

Christchurch International Airport is the second largest in New Zealand, serving almost 6 million passengers between July 2007 and June 2008. It operates 24 hours a day and directly connects to Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Nadi, Rarotonga, Singapore, Osaka and Tokyo.
Other freight options include: The South Island’s major deep-water port at Lyttelton; road transport via State Highway 1, the main route running the length of New Zealand; and rail, with a service extending to the West Coast and Picton, and a rail/ferry service continuing across Cook Strait to Wellington.
A comprehensive public transport network in Christchurch city ranked highest in the country in the 2008 national Quality of Life Survey for satisfaction with its affordability, ease of access, frequency and reliability.
