Dynamic Controls has been the world’s premier supplier of electronic control systems for power wheelchairs and scooters for over 30 years. The company is a fully owned subsidiary of Invacare Corporation, a global leader in the $6 billion home medical product industry.

Company size

Dynamic Controls has over 300 staff.   Head office and all research and development functions are located in Christchurch.  Manufacturing is completed in the company’s China opertions.  The company also has sales and service offices in the UK, USA and Taiwan.

Research and development

Dynamic Controls invests a significant percentage of revenue into research and development.  The majority of this is focused on the design of specialist control systems for power wheels.  Increasingly the company is developing expertise in the bio-medical sector with a focus on telehealth (for example, using an iPhone technology to display wheelchair information in real time) and understanding and meeting end-user needs.
