Scott Technology’s Christchurch operation manufacturers and supplies metal processing and parts assembly equipment for the domestic/home appliance industry – for cooking, refrigeration, laundry and hot-water cylinder products.
The equipment capability range extends from fully automatic production lines to standalone equipment units.
Scott Technology’s Christchurch operation produces equipment for all appliance industry sectors. Ninety-nine percent of products are exported, primarily to the US, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australasia; all of which are supported by our international network of service and support providers
Scott Technology has a very long, well-established history. It was established in 1913 in Dunedin, New Zealand, as engineering company J & A P Scott.
Through many years of innovation and diversification, Scott Technology has developed into an international company offering capital equipment and engineering solutions in many commercial sectors.
In 1997, Scott Technology was listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange and in 2013 the company celebrated its centennial.
Scott Technology employs between 70 and 80 people in its Christchurch operation and its annual turnover is approximately NZD 18-22 million.
The Christchurch operation is supported by branches throughout New Zealand and the world, which focus on design, manufacturing and sales activities.
Research and development
Scott Technology has a very strong focus on research and development and has recently received government funding of NZD 5 million over the next three years, which covers 20% of its research and development spend.
It has an internal department that manages and delivers development projects, such as the the Milktech automated milking system.
